The Carlyle Circle

celebration in the courtyard

Everyone who includes the University of Edinburgh in their will, trust or estate plan is invited to join the Carlyle Circle.

As a member of the Carlyle Circle you will receive a certificate of thanks and be invited to special events, receptions and lectures held at the University.

The Carlyle Circle is named after alumnus and former Rector of the University of Edinburgh, Thomas Carlyle. Carlyle was a prominent thinker and writer of the 19th century. Carlyle was one of the first University of Edinburgh alumni to leave a legacy to their alma mater.

Today we have a community of around 1,500 people who have pledged to remember the University in their will or estate.
